Research behind the Biofilter Adoption Guidelines

This presentation was included in the Water Sensitive Cities speaker series discusses the benefits of biofilters as a WSUD asset including their environmental, economic, and social benefits. This research was conducted by a large team of researchers at Monash University, with results explained within the presentation.

Case studies on existing biofilters, such as one in Kfar Sava (Israel), detail the assets capacity to filter out nutrients, bacteria, hydrocarbons and other pollutants. Additionally, the new version of the guidelines for adoption of biofiltration systems are examined, with differences outlined.
