This is a greenfield development project undertaken by Stockland. The tree cells have been incorporated to allow for large canopy trees (London planes) to be planted in a small median. The installation of the tree pits allows trees to grow faster and larger in a constrained urban environment. The cells have a drainage function and allow at source infiltration with next to no maintenance.
