New WAter Ways Webinars
National WSUD Community of Practice Webinar │ Erosion + Sediment Control National Webinar
How to improve ESC implementation on construction sites
Wednesday 25 March 2026
9.00am - 11.00am AWST
Join us for an insightful webinar where experts from across Australia will share their experiences and strategies for improving erosion and sediment control (ESC) implementation on construction sites.
To prevent sediment run-off into local aquatic environments, ESC is mandatory on construction sites in jurisdictions across Australia, however it is often misunderstood and not implemented correctly.
In this session, we’ll hear from practitioners who have tackled real-world challenges and developed better processes to ESC implementation and improve compliance. Learn what works, what doesn’t, and how to avoid common pitfalls.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and practical takeaways!
New WAter Ways Webinar │ Valuing Green-Blue Infrastructure in Perth and Peel
Tuesday 31 March 2026
10.00am - 11.00am AWST
Perth’s climate is changing. Declining rainfall over recent decades has placed growing pressure on traditional water sources and highlighted the need for more resilient, integrated approaches to urban and regional planning.
Green-blue infrastructure – such as wetlands, waterways, parks, and urban trees – play an increasingly important role in supporting liveable, resilient cities and regions. Despite their importance, these assets are often undervalued or overlooked in decision‑making processes. This webinar will present the findings of a recent project, commissioned by Water Sensitive Cities Australia (WSCA), examining the economic, social and environmental value of green-blue infrastructure across Boorloo (Perth) and Bindjareb (Peel).
This session will be of interest to anyone working across urban planning, water and land management, environmental policy, or community development who seek to better understand and effectively communicate the comprehensive benefits of green-blue infrastructure.
New WAter Ways Webinar │ Introducing the Green Infrastructure Management Manual
Wednesday 29 April 2026
10.00am - 11.00am AWST
Green infrastructure has not traditionally been included in asset and financial management plans, an omission that has often led to its neglect and degradation, and subsequent waste of the initial investment. The development of the manual is a significant step in having the value of nature in our cities understood, and will enable asset owners to plan, protect, and invest in our natural assets.
The Green Infrastructure Management Manual offers practical guidance on 24 types of green infrastructure, including lifecycle management, relative risks, costs, and value. Packed with case studies, tools, and a simple framework for integrating green assets into financial and asset planning, it helps councils and asset stewards make informed decisions that enhance urban liveability, biodiversity, and climate resilience.
The GIMM empowers councils, engineers, asset managers, and planners to integrate nature-based infrastructure - including street trees, parks, green roofs, wetlands, and coastal habitats - into asset and financial management plans.
