2020 has brought a myriad of challenges. A global pandemic. Shelter in place orders. Park restrictions. Social injustices. Civil Unrest. COVID-19 has quashed our daily practices and has caused us to adapt to a world completely different from the ones we knew 4 months ago. Now more than ever parks will need to amplify their reach to serve as healing spaces to transform a world hungry for peace, nature and well-being. Let’s discuss the important role parks will serve to help “heal the world.” And how we as park professionals can amplify our voices to highlight the tremendous benefits parks will and can serve to heal us out of the “Great Pause.”
