Site Tour One – Water Corporation’s Advanced Water Recycling Plant and Water Research & Innovation Precinct
Water Corporation’s Advanced Water Recycling Plant is leading the way in advancing Australia’s perceptions and acceptance of treating used water to turn it into high quality drinking water. This innovative scheme sees highly treated wastewater from the Beenyup Water Resource Recovery Facility purified at the advanced water recycling plant to a level that exceeds drinking water standards.
Delegates will be taken around the visitor’s centre to see key pieces of equipment and hear from WC’s team on the plant operations.
The Water Research and Innovation Precinct is creating a sustainable and cleaner water future for Western Australia. Located in Subiaco, the Water Research and Innovation Precinct is a collaborative workspace developing new and innovative wastewater treatment and resource recovery technologies. By collaborating with global technology providers, research institutions and local industry we hope to make improvements in efficiency, sustainability and a create a positive legacy.
On this tour participants will learn about Water Corporation’s wastewater treatment journey, from a serious health and environmental problem, to a valued resource that is now recycled into drinking water. There are many research projects to see with a focus on wastewater treatment, resource recovery and greenhouse gas reduction.
