Please join us for the final Urban Data Network Meetup for 2026 where we will be addressing the biggest trend in PlanTech: Artificial Intelligence. Like no other technology that has come before, AI touches on all aspects of planning practice, whether automating document checking and administration, undertaking research or providing advice. PIA’s Position Statement on AI in Planning recognises that the potential to transform planning practice is high, however, as we are nearing the end of 2026, where are we actually at?
In order to sort hype from reality we have invited local and international researchers to share what they have been finding when it comes to how AI is actually being used in planning practice, the biggest opportunities, barriers and risks.
