Save the date for Nature City, a 2-day seminar and 1-day field trips to showcase the latest research and best practice case studies to improve our capacity to manage, enhance, design and connect with nature in urban areas in WA.
The event will run from Wednesday 26 – Friday 28 June, 2019 at the City of South Perth Community Hall and selected field sites.
The main themes for the Seminar and Field Trips are management, conservation, restoration and enhancement of nature, and connecting people with nature. These themes will cover urban bushland, parkland, benefits of nature to human health, and biophilic design.
We are currently calling for sponsorship for Nature City. Benefits of sponsorship include are numerous and sponsorship categories range from $500 to $5,000. The call for sponsorship closes on 15 April, so please get in touch ASAP.
A call for abstracts will be circulated in due course for those who wish to present. Speakers will be selected from a cross section of the community, including researchers, practitioners, local & state government, policy makers, urban planners, landscape architects, industry, volunteers & NGOs. Networking opportunities will facilitate new science-practice partnerships and innovative inter-disciplinary collaboration.
