Want to learn how you can reduce your water use at home to conserve Perth’s water sources and keep your bills down?

This workshop is designed to empower residents with the knowledge they need to interpret water bills and reduce water use in the home.

The content in this workshop will be presented in two sections;

The first will explain how water consumption is billed and provide details on the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) labelling scheme. This federally mandated system is used to record the water efficiency of various fixtures and features throughout the home, including showers, toilets and internal/external taps.

The second section will include a breakdown of the average Perth household’s water consumption and tips on how you can reduce water use at home. There will also be a practical demonstration on how to measure flow rate of your own fixtures and simple solutions to improve their performance. We will share a simple methodology for calculating the return on investment for installing water saving fixtures throughout the home to help you understand the benefits of installing these systems.
