At the heart of the event is soliphilia, a term coined by Prof Glenn Albrecht in 2009, which describes a deep love and sense of responsibility for the places we live, the people around us, and the natural world. This idea of connection and care will guide the conversations and collaborations throughout the conference.
We’ll focus on how to accelerate the shift to renewable energy, reduce industrial emissions, and end harmful practices – all while protecting ecosystems for future generations. From preventing habitat loss to restoring natural environments, we’ll explore how to ensure the renewable transition goes hand in hand with caring for nature, recognising that protecting and restoring the natural world is critical to tackling climate change.
