Our May Guest Speaker is Natalia Ramswell from the Department of Health – Water Unit who will be talking about managing public health risks from wastewater in Western Australia and the proposed regulatory changes to how reticulated sewage and on-site sewage systems are managed – there are some extensive proposed changes to old legislation and regulations!
The Department of Health is currently seeking feedback on the most effective regulatory framework to manage the public health risks associated with the conveyance, treatment and disposal of wastewater in Western Australia. Natalia will be providing an overview of the discussion paper, including drivers for regulatory change and improvements that could be made by using a risk based approach. She will also provide a sneak peek at their upcoming paper on management of recycled water.
