If you’re in Perth this Wednesday, 19th May don’t forget the AWA Monthly Sundowner from 5.15pm to 6.30pm at Besk, Basement Bar, 264 Railway Parade West Leederville (opposite West Leederville Train Station).

Our May Guest Speaker is Natalia Ramswell from the Department of Health – Water Unit who will be talking about managing public health risks from wastewater in Western Australia and the proposed regulatory changes to how reticulated sewage and on-site sewage systems are managed – there are some extensive proposed changes to old legislation and regulations!

The Department of Health is currently seeking feedback on the most effective regulatory framework to manage the public health risks associated with the conveyance, treatment and disposal of wastewater in Western Australia.  Natalia will be providing an overview of the discussion paper, including drivers for regulatory change and improvements that could be made by using a risk based approach.  She will also provide a sneak peek at their upcoming paper on management of recycled water.

Events are free, with a bar available at the venue to purchase your own drinks.

You are welcome to bring a friend. Pre-registration is not required, you can simply turn up! Just sign in via the WASafe App at the venue and complete our Attendance Register available on arrival.

We look forward to seeing you at Besk for a casual gathering of like-minded water professionals!
