Every rainfall event sends a surge of pollutants into our rivers, creeks, and oceans. Understanding how stormwater pollution is generated and how to effectively treat it remains unseen until its impacts are irreversible. This course offers a practical, evidence-based introduction to stormwater treatment, giving participants the tools and insights needed to protect waterways and deliver better outcomes for communities.

This three-part course is designed for participants to explore the environmental impacts of traditional stormwater management, unpack the principles of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), and assess the performance of key treatment assets such as bioretention systems, swales and wetlands. The course also addresses common design and maintenance challenges, offering practical solutions to prevent asset failure and underperformance.
