New WAter Ways training sessions for 2018

Calling all recent graduates and new professionals in the water sector or development industry! These courses will improve your understanding of water sensitive urban design principles, practices and possibilities.

New WAter Ways is trialling a new training program this year, combining several topics into two intensive courses to be run from 9.30am to 2.30pm on 27 March and 8 May 2018.

The training sessions provide introductory information on water sensitive urban design processes and concepts. These sessions are aimed at local government and industry planners, engineers, landscape architects, asset managers and developers to assist our industry to better deliver water sensitive cities.

The program is as follows:

  • Tuesday 27 March 2018 – Session 1: Planning processes, Introduction to stormwater management practices, the Decision Process and Biofilters
  • Tuesday 8 May 2018 – Session 2: Groundwater management for urban development, Local water management strategies – how to get it right, Retrofitting for WSUD and Maintenance of WSUD assets

Each session will be held at the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation in the Perth CBD and run from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Morning tea and lunch will be provided and accordingly we will need to charge a fee of $90 (excl GST) for each session.
