New wetlands to help reduce Swan River pollution
Jun 14, 2011
The State Government has allocated the Swan River Trust $3.2million in a bid to boost the health of the Swan and Canning rivers by building two new nutrient-stripping wetlands. The wetlands will be built in Ellenbrook and Bayswater between 2011 and 2015 and will help strip nutrients from catchment sites, reducing the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus entering Perth’s major urban waterways.
