Call for Abstracts: Swan River Trust: River Forum 2011

The Swan River Trust River Forum 2011 will be held in Perth on Wed 2nd November 2011. They are now inviting prospective presenters to submit their abstracts for consideration by the Program Committee.
The River Forum will bring together researchers and river managers to share research to support better understanding and management of the Swan and Canning river systems. The River Forum aims to promote the communication of research outcomes relevant to the Swan and Canning river systems, generate discussion on future research needs and opportunities, and support greater collaboration between river managers and researchers.
Researchers, policy makers, river managers, and relevant organisations are encouraged to submit an abstract and participate in this exciting event. The keynote speaker will be Professor Lyn Beazley Chief Scientist of WA.
Guided by the theme “Sharing the Rivers: Sharing Knowledge – Use - Responsibility”, the conference will:
• Provide a forum to exchange information and to forge new partnerships to improve river-focussed research;
• Present the latest river-related research on ecological and social systems;
• Discuss collaborations and foundations for working together – communities, researchers, government, and industry;
• Showcase innovation and new directions for catchment and in-river works.
