About New WAter Ways

Building Capacity of Government and Industry Practitioners

New WAter Ways will deliver an adaptive and responsive up-skilling program for State and Local Government engineers, planners and the development industry in Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD).

This Western Australia based program has strong linkages to local government and industry which enhances the Integrated Water Cycle Management (IWCM) knowledge base and facilitates on-ground outcomes. The program will incorporate learning from innovative, urban water sensitive projects to share amongst the network through a series of interactive events, awareness building and support.

Water sensitive urban design is not prescriptive, as the designs must be specifically based around the natural environment and conditions of the location. There are, however, general principles of water sensitive urban design that will guide and inspire you.
